ROTARY CLUB OF CHENNAI VELACHERY PARTICIPATES IN FUNCTION TO INAUGURATE NEW CAREER-ORIENTED COURSES

Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery, participated in the Function organized by the
Corporation of Chennai Community College in Seven Wells, and Dr. Reddy's Foundation
for the inauguration by the Mayor of four new job-oriented courses for the benefit
of unemployed youth, on Wednesday, 6th August 2008 at the Community College.

Rotary Club sent its representatives to participate in the function, since it is
already involved in mobilizing aspirants for the courses of the Corporation of
Chennai community colleges in Triplicane and Seven Wells. The Rotary Club conducted
Roadshows in low-income localities in and around Velachery on 19th and 20th July
2008 to create awareness about these career-oriented courses, and to mobilize
aspirants for these courses in a bid to help the unemployed youth in those
localities.

"We understand that there are four such centres in Chennai. After discussions with
Dr. Reddy's Foundation officials, we are very much impressed by the outstanding
service done by the Corporation and the Foundation" Rtn. Balasundaram later said.
"Our Club is very much interested in starting a similar Community College in
Velachery for the benefit of unemployed youth in and around Velachery. We intend
taking it up with the Corporation as soon as possible" Rtn. Sriram added.
